For over 128 years, Vienna Beef has been nationally recognized as Chicago's Hot Dog. In 1893, when Chicago was host to the Columbian Exposition/World's Fair, one of the culinary innovations the 27 million guests were introduced to the Vienna Beef hot dog, courtesy of Austrian-Hungarian immigrants Emil Reichel and Samuel Ladany .
